Lisa Reed’s calm and gentle approach to her teaching guides and inspires her young artists, where they can feel comfortable to explore, create and express themselves openly. Lisa believes in supporting the whole child in a social and emotional learning environment by putting emphasis on the artistic process that is developmentally appropriate. Her studies in Developmental Psychology with research in the Neufeld Philosophy together with her training in Art Therapy creates an arts-based approach to education that is unique to her classes.
Lisa's classes draw upon themes from children's picture books, artists in history, and elements of nature, and introduces young artists to a wide variety of materials and explores endless possibilities through drawing, painting and mixed-media projects. She loves working with young children (especially having a young daughter of her own), and draws upon her tremendous work experience specific to this age group.
