Laura Aliaga

Laura is excited to witness the joy and confidence that the arts bring to children, and is proud to act as a bridge between creative professionals and young people in her role as Manager, Art & Design. Laura’s interests lie in a range of topics including visual literacies, experiential arts programming, artist capacity building, and accessible experiences for young people.

Laura joined Arts Umbrella as Manager, Program Operations in January 2020, and has held positions with local arts & culture organizations including: ArtStarts in Schools, Ballet BC, The Eastside Arts Society (EAS), and The Vancouver Maritime Museum.

Laura holds a BA from UBC with a major in Art History, and specialization in Art Education and has extensive experience in business consulting services, fund development, grants management, marketing & communications, strategic partnerships and operations. Laura previously served on the Board of Directors at the Eastside Arts Society, and organized Studio 101, a program dedicated to the advancement of accessible arts experiences for youth in the Eastside Arts District.
