Andrea Keevil

Andrea holds a BFA in dance from Simon Fraser University and a BEd from the University of British Columbia. Growing up Andrea trained at the Edmonton School of Ballet, Goh Ballet and with Arts Umbrella and Ballet British Columbia through the Ballet BC Mentor Program. She performed with companies in Vancouver including Wen Wei Dance, Lola Dance, EDAM and Joe Ink as well as with a number of independent choreographers. She was also a company member of Compagnie Marie Chouinard and performed in company repertoire including The Rite of Spring, 24 Preludes of Chopin, Le Cri du Monde, Chorale, and bODY_rEMIX/gOLDBERG_vARIATIONS. While dancing Andrea had the opportunity to tour extensively in Europe, Asia, Israel and North America and she participated in dance festivals including Impulstanz (Austria), Julidans (Amsterdam) and Fall for Dance (NYC). As well as teaching dance, Andrea currently teaches as a learning support teacher in the North Vancouver School District and is working on her Master of Education degree focusing on inclusive education and how to integrate more movement and embodiment into education.
