Amy Jean McElwain

After working on the Student Services team where she had the opportunity to familiarize herself with everything Arts Umbrella has to offer, Amy Jean is thrilled to have joined the Dance Administrative team as the Programming Coordinator.

No stranger to dance, Amy Jean spent her formative years in the ballet studio completing her Cecchetti Advanced II examination. After receiving her Diploma in Musical Theatre, Amy Jean spent ten years performing professionally. Much of her performance experience included touring across Canda and the USA, an experience she will always treasure.

Outside of her work at Arts Umbrella, Amy Jean is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She believes in the healing power of art and plans to blend therapeutic processes with art to provide a holistic healing experience for those in need. She is passionate about supporting artistic growth in youth and is grateful to work in an environment where creativity and imagination is nurtured.

Amy Jean is grateful to be living, working, and playing on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
