Open Stage

This weekly program provides students with a safe environment to learn the basics of theatre.

In the Arts Umbrella Open Stage program, students take a deep dive into theatre, exploring character creation, acting, and performance through improvisation, tableau, physical theatre, and storytelling.

Designed for young people ages 9–16, the program nurtures creativity while building confidence, self-esteem, and a lasting appreciation for the arts. Each weekly class provides a supportive space for students to take risks, express themselves, and grow their enthusiasm for learning.

Open Stage takes place in locations including; Strathcona Community Centre; Britannia Secondary School (Junior Social Development – JSD; Learning and Life Skills – LA/LS); Queen Alexandra Elementary.
