Summer Dance Intensive August 8-27, 2011

Junior Summer Dance Intensive | July 30-August 3, 2012

Ages 8-12

Minimum 1 year of dance experience required.
Location: Arts Umbrella Q7 | 77, East 7th Avenue

Schedule: 4 classes/day, 9:30am-3:45pm (45min lunch break)

 

This program is one of the few intensive summer programs for younger dancers. Featuring Ballet, Modern, Repertoire, Jazz, and Hip Hop classes with special guest instructors as well as Arts Umbrella faculty, the Junior Summer Dance Intensive is a comprehensive way to prepare for the classes in September.

Summer Dance Intensive | August 6-24, 2012

Ages 12+ (Grade 7+)
August 6-24, 2012
Audition required.

Location: Arts Umbrella Granville Island | 1286 Cartwright Street

 

World-renowned choreographers and instructors offer a dance training experience that will help students reach their performance potential. The extensive three-week program includes Ballet, Repertoire, Pointe, Pas de Deux for advanced students, Modern, Jazz, Coaching and Conditioning and Movement Exploration. Students take 4 to 6 classes each day with master instructors, repetiteurs and choreographers, and work toward a final performance.

 

Admission to Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) and the Professional Program is by audition only. All Arts Umbrella Professional Program students are required to attend SDI, and must re-audition each year.

 

Auditions

Live auditions take place at Granville Island for students applying for:

• Professional Dance program
• Graduate program
• Vancouver Community College & Arts Umbrella Dance Diploma program
• Summer Dance Intensive

 

Sunday, January 22, 2012
January live audition applications must be submitted by January 6, 2012.

 

Sunday, March 4, 2012
March live audition applications must be submitted by February 24, 2012.

 

DVD Applications
DVD applications will be accepted for students who cannot attend the live audition dates.
