Dance

Arts Umbrella's dance programs are internationally recognized as training that develops the whole dancer, stressing technical strength while embracing the importance of the intellectual and artistic elements of the art form. Starting at age six, the programs meet a variety of needs for students: those wanting to explore dance for fun, those committed students seeking intensive dance training, and those in between. With a strong foundation in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Modern, young dancers are given an opportunity to explore the art form as artists, athletes, performers, audience members and future professionals.

Dance Program Structure

The Arts Umbrella Dance Programs run from September through June. The General Program includes the Boys Only Program and is for ages 6 and up. The Professional and Pre-Professional Programs are for ages 10 and up and are by audition only. Auditions are held in May for the following September.

This diagram shows the ages and levels of Art Umbrella's dance programs. Dancers in the Boys Only Program may graduate to other Arts Umbrella dance programs depending on instructor approval or audition.
