Music / Musical Theatre

Let your inner Broadway star out on Arts Umbrella’s stage!

Sing. Dance. Act. Play. Our Music & Musical Theatre classes cover all aspects of performance from solo singing to group harmonies and choreography. Students explore technical and artistic sides of the craft, all while building a repertoire of ensemble pieces.

In our classes, kids, youth, and teens find their voices by developing the connection between the body, music, and storytelling. Students learn about artistic expression and build confidence as they practice, play, and perform.

Why Musical Theatre

Fun and dynamic, Musical Theatre is multi-disciplined, combining acting, singing, and dance. Classes may introduce theatrical terms, get silly during warm-up exercises, and engage young actors in memorizing a fun repertoire.

Musical Theatre also teaches projection, enunciation, articulation, and pronunciation – encouraging young musical theatre actors in their self-expression and helping to build self-confidence. Experienced instructors guide the journey, providing feedback and encouraging students to be supportive of their classmates.

Why will kids love Musical Theatre? Because from the dance steps to the harmonies, Musical Theatre shows us what teamwork looks like.
