Post-secondary Scholarships for the Creative Sector

Creative Launchpad provides a transformational opportunity for young people who demonstrate a passion and commitment to the arts.

Creative Launchpad is a financial award made available to those students who are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate in Canadian post-secondary studies across the spectrum of creative fields.

2024/25 applications are now open! Applications are due April 22, 2024.

Creative Launchpad can be used for programs such as:

  • Visual & Media Art
  • Theatre
  • Dance
  • Arts Administration
  • Graphic Design
  • Photography
  • Curatorial Studies
  • Music Production
  • Game Design
  • Fashion, Makeup, and Hair

Eligibility

Qualifying applicants are those who:

  • Will be graduating from secondary school with a Dogwood Diploma.
  • Are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • Will be pursuing full-time studies in an approved Canadian post-secondary program in the creative sector.
  • Be actively involved in an Arts Umbrella program for a minimum of six months.

Some students plan to take a “gap year” before pursuing post-secondary studies for varying reasons (i.e. work to raise funds or travel). Students who are planning to take a “gap year” to prepare for post-secondary are still eligible to apply for the scholarship as long as:

  • The gap year does not exceed the length of one academic year (i.e. September to August).
  • The student can still provide proof of enrollment at their chosen post-secondary institution.
  • The student can provide their reasoning for the gap year in their written statement.
  • Funds from the scholarship will be used towards supporting the student’s time while enrolled in a program and actively taking classes.

Creative Launchpad is generously funded by Jeff Mooney and Suzanne Bolton
