Kay is a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher. She danced for the Karen Jamieson Dance Company for 8 years and was the Assistant Director for the company for 4 years. Her choreography has been featured at Women In View, Dancing on the Edge, Dance in Victoria, Limon Institute in San Jose, and AREA, Barcelona, Spain. Her recent credits include choreographing for Byng Theatre Arts Winter Cabaret 2012, The Ashgirl at Byng Theatre Arts, choreography and workshops for the pre-professional Junior, Senior, and Musical Theatre Troupe, guest artist at Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach for the children’s choir as well as the Performance Choir, and a flashmob for the Vancouver Children’s Festival, 2011 with Henderson Annex Elementary School.
She is currently on faculty at UBC, Langara College and Arts Umbrella teaching dance and movement to students from age 2 onwards to adults. She has piloted and implemented dance programs for places such as the Downtown Eastside, the Down Syndrome Research Foundation, Immigration Service Society, Connect Through The Arts in Surrey, and created dance curriculum for elementary schools all over Vancouver. She founded CrossManeuver Performance Projects in 2011 as a vehicle to bring interdisciplinary training to young performers.
