What To Prepare for Your Audition

Prepare a song from the Musical Theatre canon. Make sure you have sheet music to bring with you to your audition. Sheet music can be found in hard copy at libraries, or online at resources including composer’s personal websites, musicnotes.com, and sheetmusicdirect.com

Prepare this dance combo (password: MT2022). “Everybody Say Yeah” from Kinky Boots, can be found on YouTube and Spotify for rehearsal (the combo starts at around 3:30). Music playback will be available at the audition.

What to Expect at Your Audition

Your audition will take place in a studio at our Granville Island location, 1400 Johnston Street.

Your audition will be 15 minutes long. During your audition you’ll present your song and the dance combo. You may be given redirection on your pieces or asked questions about yourself.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition time to sign in.

At this time, masks are mandatory for all students ages 6+ in any part of the Arts Umbrella facility. You do not need a valid vaccine passport in order to audition or participate in our programming.
