Winter Shorts collaborates with Climate Change Theatre Action 2021

Theatre is inherently a collaborative art form with the ability to provoke discussions and promote change. This year, we have decided to focus our work on the topic of climate change, thanks to an organization called Climate Change Theatre Action 2021 who provided us with short plays written by playwrights from around the globe in an effort to bring climate change action to the forefront of our minds.

Founded in 2015, Climate Change Theatre Action is a worldwide series of readings and performances of short climate change plays presented biennially to coincide with the United Nations COP meetings. We have also enlisted the help of Art and Design students to create pieces that reflect what is happening with respect to climate change which we will be projecting as our backgrounds for each piece. We are delighted to be a part of this global effort and are so excited to finally share the work with a live audience.

All performances of Winter Shorts will take place in the Jack and Darlene Poole Theatre at our Granville Island campus, 1400 Johnston Street.
