Join us to celebrate the opening of ‘you do you,’ an exhibition culminating Contemporary Art Practices, a three-week visual arts intensive hosted by the Contemporary Art Gallery and Arts Umbrella.

Designed for young artists between the age of 15-19, it aims to introduce ways for participants to develop a contemporary art-making practice that critically engages with the world around them.

Working with leading artists, curators, and educators, students interrogated ideas surrounding self-care, wellness, and capitalism in today’s society. Through workshops, studio critiques, and discussions, they created work that considers such questions as: Who is responsible for taking care of us and our communities. And what does it mean to take care of ourselves.
