Calling all aspiring theatre and film technicians! We are happy to announce the Pro-D Day Stagecraft workshop series – an opportunity for students ages 13-19 to explore specific areas of Stagecraft, taught by working industry professionals.

First up: Stage Management. This workshop will now be instructed by Jackie Adamthwaite (Vancouver Civic Theatres, Pacific Opera Victoria).

October 20, 2023
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Arts Umbrella Granville Island

Students will learn how to position themselves for success in high school and/or community productions. Topics will include: setting up the prompt script, working with a director and production manager to schedule rehearsals, how to read between the lines to translate artistic language into practical cues, working with the stage crew, and beyond. The workshop will provide insider tips for the student stage manager, giving them the confidence to stage manage their next production with heightened calm, confidence, and clarity.
