Arts Umbrella is pleased to open our doors Saturday, September 9, 2023, for an Open House and Registration Fair!

From 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at 1400 Johnston Street, Granville Island, guests can speak with discipline experts from our schools of Art & Design, Dance, and Theatre, Music & Film and have any questions answered, register for classes for the upcoming school year, and explore Arts Umbrella’s Granville Island state-of-the-art facility. Tours will take place at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM.

Whether you’re a young person interested in the arts, accompanying a young artist, or simply interested in looking around, we look forward to welcoming you.

Dance Trial Classes!

Join Arts Umbrella Dance in a free trial class before or after an open house tour. Classes will touch on some ballet and movement concepts and aim to provide prospective students with a glimpse of dance programs at Arts Umbrella. Come in ballet slippers, socks, or bare feet and wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in.

Trial Class Times:

11:15-11:45 – Grades 1-7*

1:15-1:45 – Grades 6-12*

*Depending on dance experience, Grade 6 & 7’s can choose the 11:15 or 1:15 trial class.
