Patricia Johnston was born in England and raised in Zimbabwe, but has called the coast and mountains of British Columbia home for over 35 years. Her surroundings are her work’s foundation, and she is known for capturing the spirit of the places she paints. Her luminous works dissolve atmosphere, waves, and land to the edge of abstraction. Johnston is also a teacher, speaks at public art panels, and has been donating works annually to Splash since 1986.
