In her practice, Ontario-born, Vancouver-based abstract artist Christine Breakell-Lee explores the intuitive relationship between colour and space, using lyrical abstraction as an exploration of her moods. The results collect as a private diary of colourful drama. Breakell-Lee applies paint with her hands rather than a brush, creating a unique intimacy to each work. She has a full-time studio practice in the historic 1000 Parker Building in Vancouver’s east side arts district.
