Barrie Jones is a Vancouver-based photo artist whose works are held in numerous private and public collections, including the Vancouver Art gallery and the National Gallery of Canada. For many years, he has produced and exhibited large-scale staged tableaux he calls “negotiated documentaries.” These works explore the portraiture of a range of human activities and marginal economies in urban areas. Jones is a photography instructor in the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory at UBC.
