What we learn from the arts, we learn for life
Art is a lifelong love that can begin young. So, we have as many programs in Visual and Performing Arts as there are incredible ideas in a child’s mind. Which is a lot. A whole lot. And though we’re interested in cultivating artists, ultimately what we do is cultivate an environment. Where kids can be themselves, explore their identities, and grow into strong capable people with thoughts, visions, and ideas about the world. To learn a love of art. And learn even more from it.

How it Works
Art is powerful. And its power changes the lives of kids in incredible ways. When a young person connects with the arts—their art—they find not just a capacity for appreciation, but personal expression and discipline they carry with them for life. That’s real power. Like the power-to-light-up-a-room powerful.

Scholarships & Bursaries
Arts Umbrella Scholarships can help take a student’s arts training to the next stage. Experienced mentors guide intensive scholarship programs, helping committed young artists stretch their boundaries, fine-tune their artistic voices, or polish their portfolios. Contact us for more details about application requirements.
Finances shouldn’t stop any child from participating in the arts. The Arts Umbrella Bursary Fund helps students of all ages and talents access the arts at a reduced rate, nominal fee, or free-of-charge. Low- and middle-income families can apply for a full or partial tuition subsidy. Bursaries are awarded based on financial need, putting the best arts training within reach for hundreds of young artists.
