About the Program

August 9-27, 2021

The Capture Photography Intensive is a three-week photography program specifically designed for youth between the ages of 15-19 interested in advancing their photography practice.

The intensive is an exploration within digital and analogue image making. Students will be committed and challenged to push the boundaries of their own art through experimentation and investigation. Participants will have the opportunity to work with leading artists, curators, and educators in Vancouver in a supportive studio environment

The program will introduce participants to creative past and present approaches to image making through a series of workshops with artists at Arts umbrella. Students will learn comprehensive skills and techniques in the dark room and computer lab.

Throughout the program, participants will engage in critiques and discussions about developing ideas working with materials and viewing works of other artists. Capture Photography Festival, in partnership with In Transit BC, will be installing works at Canada Line stations across the Lower Mainland.

Students will have work exhibited at the Olympic Village Sky train station starting April 2022.
