Kevin Hatch

Kevin has been working as a Theatre Instructor since 2008, including at UBC, and for the Ontario-based Great Big Theatre Company and Wilfrid Laurier University’s JUMP Camp, where he also served as Theatre co-coordinator.

Kevin has been active in local theatrical productions since essaying the titular character in an abridged grade 2/3 production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth at age seven (where he had to ask permission to utter his first cuss word – in character, naturally). Most recently, Kevin has been seen on stage in productions of Alan Bennett’s People (United Players), Just Watch Me: A Trudeau Rock Musical and Lovelash: The Musical (Vancouver Fringe), A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer, and Fame (UBC). Kevin has also written and directed numerous pieces for UBC’s Dionysia Festival, including Cephalopod Love Story, a tale of lovesick squids doomed to die, in which he also cameoed as a starfish.

A grateful recipient of a SSHRC research grant, Kevin received his Masters Degree in Film Studies from UBC, where he also worked as a teaching assistant and taught lessons and seminars in Film, Theatre, and Creative and Academic Writing.
