Drawing and Painting (ages 13-19)
Free your creativity by playing with color, form, composition, line, and tone. Explore and create abstract and expressive works using traditional and non-traditional drawing and painting materials.

The Fine Art of Hanging Out (ages 13-19)
Explore Vancouver with an artist’s eye. Take your Arts Umbrella backpack filled with watercolours, pastels, conté, pencils, sketch board and paper, and discover beaches, wildlife, parks, museums, galleries and artist studios. Interpret your summer experience in “en plein-air” (in the open air) artworks.

Photography (ages 13-19)
Explore Granville Island with a 35mm camera! Learn how a camera ‘sees’,
discover historical processes, and create prints in the darkroom. Experiment with aperture, shutter speed, black-and-white film developing, contact printing and enlarging. Build technical skills by creating and composing unique images.

Youth Theatre Intensive (11-13)
Interested in discovering more about theatre? This thrilling class will help you to build your warm up repertoire and improve audition, rehearsal and performance skills through a variety of theatre exercises, character study and script work. The class ends with a performance for family and friends.

Summer Theatre Intensive (ages 14-19)
Note: full day program: 9:30 - 4:00 pm
Join a dynamic cast of actors to develop your theatrical potential. This exhilarating course is designed for teens wanting to explore thier work in a pre-professional setting. Work with industry professionals in a series of workshops to expand your skills in script writing, character development, movement for the actor, costuming, mask and mask making. This intensive theatrical experience ends with a performance of self-created work.
