Student Policies and Procedures

All staff, students and their families deserve to be in a safe and respectful environment while at Arts Umbrella.

Learning Needs and Student Health Concerns: The learning needs and health concerns outlined during registration are shared with instructors at the beginning of each session. To provide more detailed information, please contact the Registrar. This information will be considered in the planning of class activities.

Please note: Due to the increasing number of food allergies in children, particularly allergies to nuts, Arts Umbrella has requested that parents do not pack any items including peanuts in snacks and lunches.

Student Code of Conduct: The Student Code of Conduct forms the basis of the behaviour policy in the classroom for students. At Arts Umbrella, we all help to create an enjoyable and safe learning experience for each other.

We encourage everyone to:

  • Treat others kindly and politely so they can feel good about themselves
  • Show respect for others by being helpful and supportive
  • Show respect for the environment by avoiding waste or damage
  • Cooperate with students and instructors so everyone can be
    successful
  • Actively participate in class to get the most from your experience
  • Help celebrate everyone's successes through performance and exhibition
