Arts education teaches children methods of discovery and creative expression that can help them achieve success in all areas of life. By providing avenues for cognitive exploration, Arts Umbrella programs encourage children and youth to see the world through their own eyes and determine a path that inspires them.
Research around the world continues to show that engagement in arts learning can result in children that have:
a broader view of themselves and the opportunities available to them
greater self-confidence and self-worth
enhanced innovative thinking skills, and ability to make decisions
an appreciation of how to work well with others
Arts Umbrella believes healthy communities are built by inspired citizens, and is committed to providing arts learning opportunities to as many children in Metro Vancouver as possible.
