Scholarship Programs
Arts Umbrella Scholarships are for students keen to stretch their artistic boundaries with an intensive, mentor-based arts learning experience. Full scholarships are awarded to all accepted students, who are accepted on the basis of their application materials. Commitment to the duration of the program is required.

EA Games Teen Scholarship Program
January 17 - June 6, 2010*
Sundays, 2:30p to 4:30p at Arts Umbrella Granville Island
Ages 15-18
For students wanting to explore digital arts tools and technology, visual arts foundation skills, and learn more about different career paths in the digital arts industry. EA professionals mentor with specific areas of expertise in digital animation and game design. Students who have a passion for new media and a talent for story telling, who commit to the program will have the opportunity to develop their skills, and increase their portfolio.
* No classes are scheduled February 8 - March 20; however, students are expected to continue project work.

Submission Guidelines
- Show us you can complete a project. Submit three pieces of original artwork in any media.
- Show us how you develop your ideas. Submit a sketchbook, or collection of drawings, paintings, photographs, etc. that demonstrate how you work.
- Tell us why you want to attend. Include a letter of intention.
- Describe your artistic goals. Include an artist's statement.
- Complete your application form, including all of the above. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Buschlen Mowatt Teen Scholarship Program
March 21 - June 6, 2010
Sundays, 2:00p-4:30p, at Arts Umbrella Granville Island
Ages 14-18
This program is for students seriously considering post-secondary studies in visual arts. Experimental ideas, critical thinking in art-making and the development of technical skills will be addressed in program classes. Working with a professional artist, students will be able to gain insight into life as a professional, exhibiting artist, and develop a strong portfolio of work.
The program concludes with a major group exhibition at Buschlen Mowatt Gallery, June 17-27.
