Students are mentored and encouraged to explore unconventional ideas and critical thinking in art making, while creating conceptually innovative and aesthetically engaging works.

• Full scholarships available for 15 artists aged 14 to 18
• 12 week program: February 22 - May 24, 2009 (2-4pm, Sundays)
• Major group exhibition at the Buschlen Mowatt Gallery in June 2009
• Creation of a portfolio for application to art school

This competitive, juried program is for students seriously considering post-secondary studies in visual arts. Committed students with a passion and a talent for visual art will gain insight to an exhibiting artist's professional life, and the dedication required to succeed. Course projects build portfolio content and works for public exhibition.

How to apply:

Applications are due no later than 4pm, Sunday December 14, 2008. Successful candidates will be selected by January 18th, 2009, and informed after that date. Applications must include the following:

• Three original artworks (unframed), and/or examples of multimedia works
• One sketchbook
• One page letter of interest and artist's statement
