The Pixel Train

Get on the Train with Arts Umbrella!

InTransitBC has selected Arts Umbrella as one of four charities to receive funding through an innovative fundraising project called The Pixel Train. With the help of the general public, The Pixel Train will become the world’s largest piece of moving public art.

Everyone will be able to put their face on the train by uploading their picture (faces only) as a ‘pixel,’ which will become part of a virtual mosaic. Pixels are available in three sizes: 7x7 cm ($10), 14x14 cm ($100) or 21x21 cm ($500). When the virtual mosaic is completed, it will be translated into a ‘wrap,’ which will be displayed on an actual Canada Line train!

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Visit www.ThePixelTrain.com
2. Choose the area on the train you want your pixel to appear
3. Upload your image or select from one of the available options
4. Watch for your image on the Canada Line
