Arts Umbrella celebrated the grand opening of its brand new Surrey - Morgan Crossing facility on Saturday, January 7. After many months of planning, and many people involved in such plans, there was a lot to celebrate.

Hundreds of people were in attendance at Arts Umbrella at The Shops at Morgan Crossing, and taking part in inspiring arts activities led by instructors Jade Seto, Cara Guri, Paul Pahal and Rachel Song. Kids and parents collaborated to create mixed media bonsai trees and a large handprint-based, seascape painting. The finished canvas will be displayed within the new Arts Umbrella facility, and the bonsai trees were taken home for participants to enjoy.

The fun continued with prizes and giveaways, when Arts Umbrella gave free child-sized artist’s aprons to participants as they arrived, and a few lucky winners nabbed $100 Arts Umbrella gift certificates.

QMFM broadcasted live on-location from noon to 3pm, providing a great soundtrack to the celebration, and adding to the excitement. After a day of celebrating the arts, the crowd was all abuzz with creativity and inspiration. Arts Umbrella is grateful to be welcomed in such a way to the Surrey community.

Classes begin on Wednesday, January 11 at Arts Umbrella Surrey – Morgan Crossing and schedules can be viewed online here!
